Shaffi graduated from the Chevening Gurukul Senior Scholarship in Leadership & Excellence from the London School of Economics, London, UK in December, 2003. The Chevening Scholarships are amongst the world's top scholarship schemes and Chevening Gurukul Senior Scholarship in Leadership and Excellence is the premier British Scholarship offered to Indian citizens. Shaffi undertook the study of the Indian Ambulance Sector as part of the thesis / project report to be submitted as part of the Scholarship and the project report prepared by Shaffi became the basis for the conceptualization and launch of the Dial 1298 for Ambulance Service, a self sustainable advanced Life Support Ambulance service in India starting with in Mumbai.
